date & time: Saturday 28.09.2024, starting at 14:00
location: Taidetila Muijala, Soukontie 61, 27340 Reila
The event is for free (donations are welcome)
The gathering is limited to 10-14 participants. There are no age restrictions— everyone is welcome!
There is an apple tree in Muijala’s garden, where a local fox comes by to eat the fruit and a passing roe deer visits during his evening walks.
Apple Dinner is an invitation to taste the local and the seasonal. It is a slow and cosy gathering around food. We will serve some homemade dishes made from our local apples and other seasonal foods. Together, we will celebrate the abundance of the fall, exploring old recipes and remembering the times when seasonal food was the only food.
Mateusz Pitala and Monika Razny (PL/ NO) are artists based in Trondheim, Norway, currently having a one-month residency at Taidetila Muijala. Mateusz specialises in traditional bread-making, reviving ancient grains, and using baking as a healing practice. Monika focuses on the healing potential of plants and themes of rest and meditation, incorporating yoga into her work. Together, they explore slow living and their connection to Mother Earth through various artistic mediums, including baking, cooking, foraging, and meditation.
