Have you seen any strange masks appearing on the streets of Old Rauma?

You are warmly welcome to a discussion on Friday the 23rd of August at 16:00 at the Rauma Art Museum, where the artists will talk about their work. The discussion will be moderated by Heta Kaisto, chief curator of the Rauma Art Museum.

The Dutch long term visual artists and filmmakers Sylvie Zijlmans & Hewald Jongenelis are well-known artists in Europe for their social criticism. They work in painting, photography, performance and film, and engage local communities in their work. The artists are currently artist-in-residence at Art Space Muijala and are filming a sequel to their short film The Mother of All Failure (2022) in Rauma and Pyhäranta. The discussion will be organised in collaboration with Taidetila Muijala, where the artists’ films will be screened on Saturday 24 August at 19.00. After the screening there will be an opportunity to talk to the artists.

The discussion will be in English, but can be translated into Finnish when necessary.
