Join our second winter writing residency season at Muijala!
Muijala’s artist-run residency and winter landscape offers the ideal surroundings for focus and inspiration.
The call is open for artists, writers and cultural professionals of all disciplines and backgrounds who need time & space to develop their text-based work.
During December 2025 – February 2026 we will host a new series of reading & writing residencies where writers can work on their individual literary projects. We will host 3 to 4 writers at the same time. We organise weekly peer-reading sessions during which we will read our texts, discuss what we are working on and give each other feedback and support.
The main language of our communication & peer-reading sessions is English, but we are also welcoming projects in different languages. While selecting the applications we aim to create a groups of matching language and content.
accommodation: each writer gets a private bedroom in our accommodation and can make use of the common spaces: the kitchen, dining room, bathroom, 2 toilets and sea sauna. They also have access to a shared writers studio in the studio building on the same premises.
duration: a residency stay between 3 weeks – 3 months during December 2025 – February 2026
costs: sliding scale residency fee between €450 – 750 per person per month

The selection is based on the quality of the application, the availability of our spaces and the alignment of what the project requires and what Muijala can provide. We aim to create a varied residency program with optimal circumstances for the writers. We will inform all applicants by 31.10.2025 about the decisions.
When your residency application is accepted, we will send you a residency contract and a deposit payment request. Your residency is confirmed when the contract is signed and the deposit (€100) is paid. The full residency fee should be paid before your arrival. The deposit is returned within 2 weeks of your departure date.
